Sucrose, Lyophilization Certified, is one of two lyoprotectants offered by OPS Diagnostics for the preservation of microorganisms, proteins, DNA, and other biomolecules. Trehalose, Lyophilization Certified, is the lyoprotectant. These disaccharides are effective and maintaining the integrity of biological systems during the dehydration caused by the removal of water during freeze drying. Sucrose, Lyophilization Certified, is lot tested to ensure its effectiveness. Sucrose is widely used and less expensive than the alternative, trehalose.
